JOHN Sproson hit a superb 126 checkout via treble 19, single 19 and bull to help St Boniface's A defeat Pendleton Legion 7-2 in the Salford Mixed Monday League.

His teammate Alyn Roberts hit a 180 and other maximums came from Legion's Andrea Keenan - her second in as many weeks - and from Peter Clarke of Unicorn B, who were 6-3 winners at the Top House.

The closest encounter was at the Wellington where visitors Flemish Weaver won by the odd set in nine.

Swinton Ladies beat Denton 5-2 on Sunday in the Greater Manchester Super League, Lisa Ashton leading the way with a 71.57 average and a 180.

She teamed up with Betty Mulligan to win her pairs match.

Single victories also came from Iris Bannister and Ann-Marie Millership while the two joined forces to win their doubles encounter.

Swinton Ladies travel to Prestwich on Sunday, while Little Hulton men take the trip to Stockport.

Bill Corns of the Lamb Hotel retained his Joseph Holts Eccles Log-End League House Champion title after he beat Stuart Haslam from the Bridgewater in a ding-dong final 2-1 and-a-set game.

The beaten semi-finalists were Colin Henderson from the Union and Paul Roberts from the Bird in Hand.
