SALFORD boxer Jamie Moore wanted a world class replacement for back out boy Sechew Powell and he has certainly got his wish.

For Moore believes that Argentinian Sebastian Andres Lujan is just as good as American Powell, if not better.

The 27-year-old has fought for world titles on three occasions - losing to Mexican Antonio Margarito (WBO Welterweight title) and Ukrainian Sergiy Dzinziruk (WBO Light Middleweight title) and drawing with Hungarian Mihali Kotai (IBO Light Middleweight title).

His defeat to Margarito came courtesy of a cut stoppage in the 10th round and Moore is expecting his toughest test yet when he takes on Lujan in a top of the bill bout at Altrincham Leisure Centre on Friday, April 13.

Moore said: "On paper, Lujan is definitely my toughest opponent to date. You only have to look at the people he's fought. He has certainly mixed in better company than I have.

"He's a world class fighter but I am ready to step up to that level now.

"I was disappointed that Powell backed out of our fight as he is well known in America.

"I'm not going to get as much credit for beating Lujan as I would have for Powell but inside boxing circles I will as people in this sport know just how tough Lujan is.

"He is a short, stocky, come forward and aggressive boxer and it should be a cracking fight.

"It will be as tough, if not tougher, than fighting Powell but, like always, I am confident of coming out on top. Whatever he brings to the table I'll be able to overcome it."

Lujan's professional record reads 26 wins, four defeats and two losses.
