A hat-trick of 180s

THERE were three 180s in the top first division Swinton 501 League match between Staff of Life A and Salisbury B.

The match was won by the odd set in nine by the Staff with Andy Gourlay hitting their 180.

Alan Bennet and Tony Green hit one each for the Salisbury and Staff's Tony Gee provided a 17-darter. Mike Grimshaw's maximum and Alan Royle's 17-arrow game lit up the 7-2 win enjoyed by the Farmers Arms against the Football.

Stuart Wilmott was in outstanding form for leaders Morning Star, 6-3 winners at the White Swan. Wilmott struck a 180 in a 14-dart leg and a 150 finish in rounding off a 15-darter.

Dave Gosden's 180 helped the Britannia beat second division leaders Brackley Con Club 6-3. The Borough Social Club A went joint top with a convincing win against the Buckley Arms.

The table topping clash between Railway and Nomads in the Irlam and Cadishead Log-End league saw Railway win 4-2 and a set. Cadishead Labour Club joined the two on 10 points with a 5-2 win against the Steelworks Club. The Catholic Club and Tiger Moth share top spot in division two.

Morning Star won the play off for the Eccles and Joseph Holts Log-End League beating Bridgewater 4-0. They added the title to the KO already won.
