Another setback for Foster Junior

23/ 2/2006

Boxing

STEVE Foster Junior has suffered a further delay to his first title defence.

The 25-year-old has been denied the chance to defend his WBU Featherweight title for more than a year.

So he was 'not best pleased' when he heard that, due to ITV scheduling, his world title fight with Scotland's John Simpson has been put back from Saturday, February 25, to Saturday, March 25.

Foster Junior, who has left Oliver's Gym in Pendleton to join Champ's Camp in Moss Side, said: "It's a bit of a pain but at least it gives me longer to train."

The Scottish venue for the fight has also been changed. It will now take place at the Braehead Arena.
