A black belt clean sweep

PENDLEBURY Taekwondo Club is celebrating a clean sweep of successes at a four and a half hour in-house black belt grading event.

Nine club members moved onto between first and third dan status and fifty-year-old Alan Stockton gained his first red tag on the road to an instructor badge.

Master instructor Ken Snelson said: "It was great to have all of them pass. They have all worked really hard over the years and they all thoroughly deserve their success."

Mike Frattasi, aged 52, became a first dan black belt while his 15-year-old son Edward and 12-year-old daughter Natalie progressed to third and second dans respectively.

Mark Green, aged 32, and his daughter Kirsty, aged 11, both achieved first dan status.

Tracey Aimson, aged 32, passed her first dan test while Phil Clueit, aged 28, Charlotte Campbell, aged 18, and Chloe Hamilton, aged 19, moved onto second dans.

Master Snelson said: "The club caters for all ages and we are always looking for new members.

"It was national anti-bullying week recently and we have helped many members overcome bullying issues in the past.

"So if there are any youngsters out there having to deal with bullying then they should get in touch."
