ECCLES boosted their promotion hopes with a 38-9 victory over Thornton Cleveleys.
Tries from man of the match Dave Bebro, Tom Chapman, Adam Wilkinson and a forwards' push over score gave Eccles a deserved win.
Eccles' second string lost at Leigh and the thirds suffered a 29-10 home defeat to a strong Warrington side.
Meanwhile, at a much higher level, Salford's Neil Baxter bagged two tries to help London Wasps keep pace with Sale Sharks at the top of the Guinness Premiership.
The 23-year-old winger was one of second-placed Wasps' most impressive performers in their 28-20 victory over Bath on Sunday. It was his first start for the club having joined the Londoners on loan.
Baxter started his rugby career playing league with Salford City Reds. He joined Leicester for the 2003/04 season but ended up playing American football in NFL Europe with Berlin Thunder.
He has been training with Wasps for a month after Martin Offiah, who also played for Salford, recommended Baxter to Wasps coach and his former Great Britain Rugby League teammate Shaun Edwards.
