Kidd eyes two Mor forwards

SWINTON Lions are in talks to sign another two forwards to complete their squad for 2006.

Hot on the heels of the acquisition of former St Helens forward Chris Morley, boss Paul Kidd is hoping to bring in two more new faces in the next week to complete the National League Two club's recruitment campaign.

Welsh international Morley, 32, has joined from Halifax and will bring further strength to the pack and his vast experience will help the younger players including Liam McGovern, signed from Blackpool Panthers last week, to fulfil their potential.

Morley was involved in Halifax's play-off run last season and has also spent time with Warrington, Salford and Leigh. He has signed a two year deal with the Sedgley Park club.

Kidd said: "I'm looking to bring in two forwards in the next week then I firmly believe we are not a million miles from where we want to be.

"We've brought in a mix of youth and experience and we have added a great deal of strength to the squad which was lacking a bit last year.

"Morley is a strong tackler and will give us more strength and add to the physical presence in the pack. He is obviously very experienced too which will help with the younger players. There will be a lot of competition for places as well especially at half back with Liam coming in and that can only be a good thing."
