SALFORD City came through their tough double header test with flying colours.
They collected maximum points at Colne and Atherton Collieries to strengthen their position in the top six of the Moore and Company Contruction Solicitors League's first division.
A goal in either half secured City a 2-0 victory at Atherton on Monday night.
The first goal came via a deflected Andy McIntosh shot. City failed to hit the heights of recent games but they were always in control and Wes Bancroft exploited a goalkeeping error in the second half to seal victory.
On Saturday, Salford recorded a 2-1 away win against Colne.
City dominated the game from start to finish.
They took the lead when Matty Burke converted a 14th minute penalty and they netted again when John Robinson tapped the ball home after Andy McIntosh's pinpoint cross had left Colne's goalkeeper stranded.
Colne's consolation goal came in the dying seconds.
City host fellow form side Skelmersdale United at Moor Lane on Saturday, October 22, kick-off 3pm.
The visitors arrive with a 100 per cent league record.
