SWINTON look likely to win the fifth division title in their first season in the Lancashire GMC Super League following Sunday's 6-4 win against Darcy Lever.

Andy Gourley led the way with an 80 average while Andy Chase hit a 180. Gary Roberts, Darren Brooks, Tommy Swindells and Tony Green also won for Swinton.

Little Hulton enjoyed their best result of the season. Bert Millership, Lee Grimshaw Snr, Richard Higson, Alan Hodgson, Steve Whalley, Stuart Wilmott, Anthony Hamer and Pete Walker entered the winner's enclosure against Halliwell.

Swinton Ladies suffered a 5-3 defeat at the hands of Darwen. The consolation points came via Iris Bannister, Carol Warwick and Ann-Marie Millership.

Unicorn B stayed four points behind Salford Monday League leaders Weaste thanks to a 5-4 win against Ashley Brook.

Andy Gourley was in sensational form for Ashley. Mike Thomas also excelled.

Maximums from Tommy Swindells and Alan Bennett inspired Swinton Legion to a 5-3 and a set success against Swinton Legion in the first leg of the Swinton 501 League divisional knockout semi-finals.

Morning Star defeated White Swan 6-3 in the other first division semi-final.

In the second division, Staff B beat Windmill 6½-2½ and Tony Hoye's 180 helped Britannia to defeat Football 7-2.
