WORSLEY hotshot Tony Green was in great form, winning six matches to move through a field of 156 into the final of the Moston Open before going down 3-0 in the ultimate shoot out.

Second-placed Royal Oak lost 5-2 to an in-form Bridgewater in the Joseph Holts Eccles League, while bottom team White Lion B came from behind to pip the Bulls Head 4-3, Jimmy Wilson taking the decider. The Lamb came from three down to beat the Morning Star, Ricky Horton completing the remarkable comeback.

Third-placed Lord Nelson beat the team above them, Staff of Life A, in the Swinton 501 League first division, Stuart Wheeler with a 180 in a 16-darter and Tony Halton also hitting a maximum. Andy Gourlay and Alan Roberts struck 180s for the losers. Mike Grimshaw's 14-darter, two 180s included, help Farmers Arms beat the Moorside Farm 7-2. Mark Taylor had a 152 checkout but his Swinton Con Club lost 7-2 at the White Swan, while Brain Everall's 140 finish helped Borough Social defeat the Folly Club.

Tony Pennington's 15-arrow log-ender helped Irlam Cons A beat Steelworks A 5-2 in the top-two battle in the Irlam and Cadishead League. Railway beat Tiger Moth 6-1 with assistance from Jimmy Rose's 16-darter. The top-two match in the second division went to White Lion Nomads, 4-3 against the Steelworks B.
