High-flying Cadishead Sports under-14s are having their best season ever with no fewer than seven of the team being selected for representative honours.

The magnificent seven of Tom Richardson, Nathan Poole, Ben Young, Lewis Evans, Liam Green, Ben Oliver and Dean Burgess, turned out for the Warrington Junior League under-14s representative side last Sunday.

The Irlam and Cadishead youngsters helped the league team beat a strong Wigan and District side 2-0 at the Victoria Park Stadium in Warrington.

And one of the players, Ben Young, struck the representative team's second goal with a blistering shot from outside the area. The lads are now waiting to see who they draw in the semi-final of the knockout cup.

"The lads are having a magnificent season," said Cadishead Sports coach Darryl Astbury. "We are currently in the hunt for both the league title and battling on two cup fronts. To have seven of the team picked for the league side is a great honour for the club and the team."

The Rowson Drive youngsters are nine points clear at the top of their league and, with only a handful of games left to play, including nearest rivals Penketh, the title is within their grasp.
