GARRY Shepherd from the Salford Regent League finished second in his five-man group in the inaugural Manchester Log-End Dartboard Federation's individual championship in Moston.

Shepherd beat the Failsworth League's Steve O'Rourke and drew with Tom Ryan (Hollinwood League) and Terry Standley (Oldham League), before going down to eventual winner Graham Sowcroft of the Hyde Thursday League.

Irlam and Cadishead champion Graham Smith drew three of his four games but lost to Lee Whitworth of the Oldham Independent League.

Sam Pollock of the Morning Star won the Joseph Holts Eccles League's Captains' Cup following victory against the Bull's Paul Threlkeld.

In the Little Hulton and District 501 League, Lee Murphy and Lee Grimshaw Jnr picked up the pairs' title. The Duke's Gate duo defeated Walkden Cricket Club's Lee and Bert Millership by the odd leg in three in the final.

Geoff Mosey hit a 180 in Lord Nelson's 6-3 win over Swinton Con Club A in the Swinton 501 League. Darren Brooks also struck a maximum as Staff A beat Cricketers 8-1 and Tommy Swindells and Mike Thomas threw 180s for Swinton Legion in their win against Morning Star.
