High fives for Little Hulton

THE Little Hulton five-a-side B team won the divisional contest in the annual knock-out in Morecambe in the Lancashire GMC Super League on Sunday.

The team, who beat D'Arcy Lever, Swinton C, High Crompton and Swinton A on route, overcame Halliwell in the champion-of-champions' event but went down to eventual winners Fleetwood.

Lee Grimshaw Jnr hit two 180s on the day for the Hulton men, while Alan Hodgson also struck a maximum.

The full team travel to Colne for their last match of 2004 on Sunday. Swinton go to Bolton, while Swinton ladies entertain Lancaster.

Moorside Farm and Borough Social Club fought out a 4-4 and-a-set tie in the Swinton 501 League first division. Rick Moore hitting a 17-darter for the Farm and David Hall a 180 for the Borough.

Mike Grimshaw's 17-arrow game contributed to the 6-3 win for the Farmers over the Cricketers. Tony Green, including a 180, and Gary Roberts hit 17-darters to help Swinton Legion beat White Swan 8-1.

An outstanding 13-darter from Mick Hart was the highlight of Pied Piper's 6-1 win against the Spa in the Little Hulton second division. Top of the first division Dukes Gate beat rivals Walkden CC 5-2.

Tonight (Thursday) is the presentation night for the Salford Regent Log-End League at Pendleton Royal British Legion at 8pm. Admission is £1.50.
