ANDY Gourlay and Mike Renshaw of the Staff of Life A picked up the Swinton 501 League's first division pairs title after beating Farmers Arms duo Mike Grimshaw and Alan Royle in the final.

The second division affair produced an all-Football final, Dave Lamb and Mike Whatmough getting the better of team-mates Pete Gaskill and Mike Connor in the shoot-out.

Tony Hesford's 180 helped Unicorn B defeat Weaste Con Club 6-3 in a top-of-the-table Salford Monday League clash, the score by which Stowell Spire beat the Dover and Ashley Brook defeated the Flemish Weaver.

Sunday is a big day for the three local teams in the Lancashire GMC Super League. The annual five-a-side knockout is being staged in Morecambe and Swinton, men and ladies, and Little Hulton will be hoping to return with silverware.

Nicola Gledhill defeated June Lomax to become the SML women's individual winner, not the other way round as was stated last week.

Meanwhile, one of Salford's most respected dartsmen Mike Kelly has died at the age of 69. He worked tirelessly in several leagues including the aptly-named Salford Friendly League.
