Barlow makes a perfect start

TONY Barlow made the perfect start to the Irlam and Cadishead 501 season with a 180 from his first three darts.

His White Lion team-mates also enjoyed the opening day with a 4-3 win over second division rivals, Irlam Catholic Club A.

In the first division, defending champions Railway started in style, whitewashing The Plough 7-0.

Newly-promoted Cadishead Labour Club went down 4-3 to White Horse A.

Several players from the Irlam League will be making the trip to the £1,000 Hyde Open on Sunday.

Entries to the event at Frames Snooker Club should be made by 12.30pm.

The Salford Mixed Log-End League is looking for one more team to compete on a Tuesday night.

The Morning Star and the Grapes B have been added to the Eccles Joseph Holt Log-End League in time for the start of the season.
