SALFORD fighter Steve Foster Jnr is just one win away from challenging for a English title.

The promising super-bantamweight, who is unbeaten since turning pro in 2001, has been told by promoter Frank Warren that if he beats Steve Gethin on Saturday he will be in line for a shot at a belt.

And Foster, who will fight on Ricky Hatton's undercard at the MEN Arena in Manchester, is confident he can make it win number 14.

"The training has been going really well and I'm really looking forward to Saturday," said the 23-year-old. "I'm learning all the time and with each fight I'm getting better and better.

"I'm not taking anything for granted, he is an experienced fighter who has been in with some tough opponents but I'm confident I can do the business."

A Foster victory would see him headline one of Warren's Fight Skool events, possibly in February.

"It's an exciting time for me," added Foster. "But I need to put in a good performance against Gethin before I look to the future."
