Swindells legs it to an 11-darter

TOMMY Swindells was in outstanding form for Swinton Legion with an 11-darter in his team's 7-2 Swinton 501 League win against Swinton Conservative Club. He started with 180 before taking out 104 with treble 18 and the bull.

Andy Chase hit two 180s and had a 14-darter in the win by his Staff of Life team over the Borough, while Don Greenhalgh's 15-dart leg was the highlight of the tied match between his Folly and the Royal Oak.

There was also a tied match, 4-4 and a set, in the second division between the Windmill and the Weavers.

Jimmy Shepherd's 16-darter was the best in the Salford Monday League. It came in the 9-0 win enjoyed by title chasing Unicorn B over the pub's A side. Ashley Brook defeated the Dover by the same scoreline, Steve Thomas including a 121 check-out.

Gary Shepherd, John Patton and Dave Wilkinson, representing the Star Inn, picked up the Salford Regent League's Gallon KO title after victory against Pendleton Legion's Pete Villers, Roy Paul and George Oxton.

Waggon and Horses beat Higher Broughton Cons 5-2 to make it ten wins from ten in the Salford VIP League. Mike Green won the decider to give the Priory a 4-3 victory against title hopefuls Church Inn.

The Railway, Irlam, picked up the Irlam and Cadishead League's 501 title on Monday night after beating the Plough 4-3, Jimmy Rose taking the decider.
Irlam Cons went top of the second division after Graham Holmes's late win gave them victory over rivals Cadishead Labour Club.
