Supporters' Trust looks for volunteer helpers

10/ 1/2003

NEW Swinton Lions chief executive Graham Smith had a meeting with committee members from the Supporters Trust at the Folly Club.

Keeping the fans up to date, the trust will print fixture lists for all households in the Swinton and Pendlebury area plus Worsley.

They are now looking for volunteers to distribute door to door. Please ring Mark on 07815 493473 if you can help out.

Following a request from physio Laura Henderson, it was agreed to buy medical equipment required for treatment of players on match days.

Members of the trust are also working hand in hand with the club's community liaison officer Paul Kidd. More details will follow in these columns.

The trust will again be funding a bus to home games at Moor Lane for the coming season. Children will travel for free and a full route and timetable will be published shortly.

Next trust meetings are arranged for the White Lion on January 9 and 16, both at 8pm.

Fans favourite Ade Mead is making excellent recovery following keyhole surgery on a cartilage and should be back before the start of the new National League campaign, which begins against Chorley Lynx at Moor Lane on Good Friday.
