Make your bid for Reds spot

EVER dreamed of pulling on the famous Red shirt and stepping out in front of thousands of screaming fans at the Willows? Well, here's your chance!

Supporter-led Forever Reds have announced plans to auction a place in the Salford City Reds squad, giving one lucky supporter a chance to get closer to the action than ever before.

The latest fundraising idea is a rugby league first and could provide an important slice of the £150,000 Forever Reds plan to raise to keep the club full-time this campaign.

The winning bidder will be given unparalleled access to the team including full registration as the 23rd member of the squad. They will travel with the team to an away game and appear on the 2003 squad photo, which will be used on the website and each matchday programme.

Every home game, the winning bidder will be given free entrance to the game with access to the post match press conference to hear what Karl Harrison has to say.

They will also join the Reds stars for a spot of lunch after the game - and who knows? A pint in the Tavern afterwards as well!

And if the Reds reach a cup final this year - an all-expenses-paid trip will be organised by the club to make sure the occasion is even more memorable. Bids can be placed by contacting the club by telephone on 0161 736 6564 or by email on foreverreds2002@hotmail.com

Full address and credit card details will be required and payment will only be taken if the bid is successful.

Bids must be in by January 7 and on that day the only way to bid will be by telephone between the hours of 9am and noon.

• The Reds' new home strip went on sale this week and is "flying out of the door" according to club sources. The new-look shirt is priced between £36.99 and £46.99 and is available from the club until 1pm on Christmas Eve.
