RUGBY legends led their support
Lions live on, say supporters

REPORTS of Swinton Lions' death have been greatly exaggerated if the Supporters Trust Sportsperson's Dinner on Friday night was anything to go by.
A crowd of 300 people descended on Buile Hill Banqueting Suite for a magnificent night in the
company of rugby league legends Alex Murphy, Billy 'Daz' Davies, Ken Gowers and Alan Buckley.
A total of just under £6,000 was raised for the club after a grand raffle, in which this reporter was narrowly outbid for a signed Wigan shirt - still, it was for a good cause!
On Saturday, the trust will be holding a reunion evening for all the players from the 60s and 70s at Clifton Cricket Club.
The trust have also sponsored Lions physio Laura Henderson to enable her to take an advanced physiotherapy course at Red Hall.
Laura said: "The kind agreement of the Swin-ton Supporters Trust to fund my attendance on the course will now improve the provision of sports medicine, first aid and life support to all those involved in the club - be it players, staff or supporters."
