RL: NW Counties Division One - Bold Miners 26 Langworthy 4

LAST weekend didn't prove too fruitful for Langworthy as they found themselves up against Lancashire Cup finalists Bold Miners.

After a tremendous first half Langworthy were only trailing 6-4 at the break thanks to a great defensive effort and a try from Dynes Ogle.

In the second half of the match Bold found gaps in the Langworthy defence and a lack of concentration and discipline cost them the game.

  • The Second Team played host to Oldham side Higginshaw and trailed by two points at the break. A better second half show saw Jay Carter get his fifth try of the season to which Michael Grosvenor added the extras. After Paul Ellis had crossed the line to give Langworthy the lead they took their foot off the gas and two late tries saw Higginshaw romp to a 26-14 victory.
