Reds Heading For Biggest Crowd of The Year

SALFORD CITY REDS "Red Army" look set to be out in force on Sunday, picking up where they left off last Friday in Warrington.

Coach, Karl Harrison said: "Our fans were superb. They made themselves heard at Warrington and it gave us all a massive lift.

"The Warrington crowd far outnumbered them, but it didn't make a difference, the noise they created was tremendous.

"The game on Sunday against Castleford is another Grand Final for us. It's our last home game of the season and we want to go out on a high note. I'm sure the fans will get behind us again."

Castleford Tigers have confirmed that their travelling army of fans will be making the final game of the season a day to remember.

The Tigers will be hoping it's a repeat performance of their visit to the Willows earlier in the year, when they stunned the Reds with a 16 - 74 defeat.

They have their sights set firmly on a top six place and know that a win on Sunday is a must to keep their play off hopes alive.

Reds Media Manager, Carolyn Derbyshire confirmed that the Tigers would be bringing the biggest travelling support of the Super League season.

"Castleford have informed us that they have had unprecedented demand for coach travel and are struggling to meet their requirements with local coach firms. That of course, doesn't take into consideration those supporters who will doubtless be making their own way across the Pennines.

"It's a crucial game for both clubs and one that neither team will be contemplating losing - a real War of the Roses battle."

The Reds may be without last week's two-try hero Alan Hunte for Sunday's clash after he picked up a shoulder injury in training.

Darren Shaw will definitely be missing and Ian Watson will have a fitness test on Saturday.
