Luke's 27 helps Salford win

SALFORD u11s recorded a fine 59-run victory against Liverpool in their challenge match on Merseyside last week.
The local juniors, batting first, gave a solid performance with Lancashire hopeful Luke Perry top scorer on 27 and nine-year-old Joe Davies hitting a fine 15 in their total of 113 all out. And that proved to be far too many for Liverpool, who were bowled out for 54.
Nathan Cullen (3-11) and cousin Sam Cullen (3-16) were the main wicket takers, with Perry, David Dempster and Dev Kumar chipping in with one wicket each.
Friday's Salford u15s awaymatch in the Lancashire Schools' Merit League against Liverpool was cancelled because of rain.
