Addison takes over students' coaching job

SALFORD lad Lee Addison has taken over from Featherstone's Richard Agar as England Students rugby league coach.

Former Salford University and Eccles College student Lee, aged 23, will join former GB and England captain Matt Jeffrey at the helm after Agar was forced to quit the post because of his commitments to Rovers.

Lee told Advertiser Sport: "Obviously, I am delighted to have taken this step up. Things have happened pretty quickly and I enjoyed taking the team against Scotland recently. I can't wait to get stuck in to training. The hard work certainly starts here, but Students are great learners, very receptive to ideas and have their own good ideas too.

"It will be a great experience and I am confident we can succeed with the squad we have over the coming years."

Lee and Matt's first test will come against the New Zealand Army before a planned trip to Germany and the Home Nations Tournament in April.
