Come on down for crunch meeting says Barrow

TONY BARROW has called for fans past and present to attend a crunch meeting ahead of Swinton's return to the city.

The meeting, which will be held at 8pm at the Folly Club on Monday night, will give fans and well-wishers a chance to find out the club's plans for the future as they prepare to move back within two miles of Station Road.

Barrow will be on hand to answer questions as will members of the newly-formed Swinton Lions Supporters' Trust - who will ballot for their new chairman and board representative.

"We want everyone to come," Barrow told Advertiser Sport, "not just the fans that come week in week out, but the people who used to be fans and those who have an interest in the club. We want to introduce the new board set up and talk about the future of the Lions at Moor Lane and what we are trying to do there.

"We have got to look forward at this club now - remember the past, but think about the future. It's like 1866 all over again."

On the field, the Lions have struggled with injury over the past few weeks and were left with only 17 fit squad members for the trip to Huddersfield. But Barrow said the mainstay of the squad will return for the 'home' game against Featherstone to be played at Chorley's Victory Park.

"We are struggling a little bit but we should be fine for the Doncaster game," said Barrow. Andy Leatham and Peter Cannon should be back - and Jason Johnson might also be fit to play Featherstone."
