Bad luck comes in threes for Worsley

WORSLEY slumped to their third consecutive defeat at the hands of a useful Ormskirk side in the ECB Lancashire Premier League.

But if they continue in this much improved vein, it will not be long before they register that first illusive victory.

Having won the toss and electing to bat Worsley made steady if not spectacular progress against Ormskirk's attack. Australian professional Heath Pedrola's stylish 53 was backed up by some useful contributions from McKeown (28)and Lees (29). It was also heartening to see the Worsley tail put up a fight with youngsters Andy Watson (47) and Graham Salt adding 46 for the seventh wicket.

If Worsley were to defend their total of 206 it would need some tight bowling from the outset, however this was certainly not the case and Ormskirk set about the Worsley bowlers, battering 60 off the first 10 overs.

Walter and Pedrola bowled tidily but the rest of the bowling were somewhat wayward, enabling Ormskirk's professional Robinson to help himself to an exciting 80no and win the game for the home side with two overs to spare.
