Goulding out after punch up

BOBBIE Goulding will be kicked out of the Willows this week after a training ground punch-up with team-mate Graham Holroyd.

The Reds skipper has been told to stay away from training after the bust-up last Thursday - and will now sign for relegation rivals Warrington Wolves in the next few days.

At a supporters meeting on Tuesday, stand-in coach Steve Simms, who witnessed the brawl, said Goulding had been a 'naughty boy' but refused to comment further on the matter.

Warrington have been searching for a half-back since Matt Rodwell quit at the start of the month and are ready to step in once Goulding's contract has been revoked by the Reds.

Advertiser Sport can exclusively reveal the Wolves may also be poised to sign other Salford fringe players including Warren Jowitt, Darren Shaw, Alan Hunte, Danny Arnold and Paul Southern as the Reds look to balance the books.

Crowd figures are much lower than expected at the Willows and the Reds currently have the largest squad in Super League - with 32 players on the rota.

Reds media manager Carolyn Derbyshire confirmed: "Warrington have been in contact with us about the possibility of players going to them. Finances have been taken into consideration because we don't have massive gates, but we are looking at the big picture and the first priority is to move away from the bottom of Super League."
