Lions crash again in the cup

HOPES of a revival in Swinton Lions' fortunes after last week's victory were swept aside as Leigh trounced them in the Buddies National Cup.

Tries from Liam Bretherton (3), Willie Swann (2), Andrew Isherwood (2), Dave Whittle, Adam Bristow, Dave Bradbury, Paul Rowley and Simon Knox did the damage, while Swinton's solitary score came when Jason Roach pounced on a loose pass and raced 80 metres to score.
