Oliver's kids given Second chance

25/10/2001

A CHARLESTOWN charity has helped to give the Thai boxing champions of the future a fighting chance.

Second Time Round, based in Seaford Road, forked out £1,000 for training vests and shorts for youngsters at Oliver's Gym.

The money was raised by a group of local women who volunteer their time in the second hand shop which raises funds to support community projects such as the kids team at Oliver's.

And according to Gail Cosgrove, manager of Second Time Round, the pleasure is entirely theirs.

She said: "We are all really pleased to be able to do this for local kids who want to use their time creatively.

"Ged Livesey has put a lot of his heart into giving kids something to use their energy up and teach them discipline."

She added: "And really all of Charlestown have paid for these vests and shorts through their visits to Second Time Round."
