1/ 3/2001
STARS u12s A Team lived up their name at the Manchester United Tournament, held at The Cliff in Lower Broughton.
The Pendleton-based side, who were invited to attend as part of the Eddie Colman Community Link League, battled their way to the final where they faced King David from Crumpsall.
Despite going behind 1-0, they fought back with goals from Danny Davies and Ainsley Casey to take the trophy.
Manager Brian Oxton said: "I'd like to thank coach Sonny Fletcher for steering the team to the final. A special mention must also go to B Team captain Darryl Smallwood who did a very good job in taking his side to the quarter final stage."
