RICHARD shows off the impressive piece of silverware
Can you solve this medal mystery?

A LITTLE Hulton football enthusiast is asking Advertiser Sport readers to solve a 40-year-old medal mystery.
Richard Russell, aged 63, used to turn out in the Eccles & District Football League for, among others, Viking Engineering, David Brown Jackson and Ellesmere FC.
And it was while he was still strapping on the boots that he came across his fascinating find - a solid silver medal from the turn of the century.
Richard takes up the story: "I was on Frederick Road Playing fields one day in 1961 and saw something shiny lying in the grass. I took it home, put it away and didn't think much of it."
The medal, from the Manchester Football Alliance, is for the Trafford Cup Winners 1905-1906 and has the name 'S Simpkin' marked on it.
He said: "I found it again when I was having a sort out and now I want to give it back to whoever owns it or their family."
