Moorside in great shape with standard status

MOORSIDE Rangers are top of the league when it comes to coaching, development, administration and child protection.

That's according to the Football Association, who officially presented them with their Charter Standard award.

Moorside, based at Beech Farm Playing Fields in Swinton, were one of the first clubs in the Greater Manchester region to be recognised for their high standards.

Steve Parkin, director of the FA's National Game Division, said: "The FA is committed to standards of grassroots football in England to encourage more people to play, develop their skills and enjoy the game in the right environment and clubs who achieve Charter Standard are taking part in a genuine grass roots revolution."

As a bonus, the FA presented Rangers with a medical kit bag containing first aid essentials and a fitness testing CD.

Chairman Brian Elsey told Advertiser Sport: "We are delighted to receive this award from the FA and it is a reward for all the hard work that has gone on throughout the club."
