WITH the First Team given the weekend off, the attention turned to the Second XIII at Blue Ribbon Park.

The second string entertained Oldham side Waterhead but couldn't avoid defeat by 32-16.

Folly Lane's u18s carried on their amassing unbeaten run of nine games at home to Parkside Golborne. In very heavy conditions and against a bigger pack, Folly scored 20 points in each half to win in convincing style at 40-10. Try scorers were Lee Salsbury (2), Harrison Hansen (2), Dave Gilligan, Andy Greenhalgh, Dave Bruen. Simon Fleming added two conversions. Man of the match was a close call, with Hansen getting the nod just over Bruen.

Folly's u13s organised a friendly against Yorkshire Premier League side Hunslet Parkside and although they lost 34-8, showed great courage and commitment. Gary Farnworth scored all Folly's points with two unconverted tries.

Elsewhere, the u11s beat Leigh East 30-6 with tries from Kallum Watkins, Jack Spencer, Jordan Phillips, Damien Blake and conversions from Luke Evans.

The Ladies went down 18-8 to Woolston in the National Cup Second Round, despite tries from Tammy Smith and Cath Gore.
