No let up for battling Lions

14/ 2/2001

THERE'S no let-up for Swinton Lions as they strive to keep their heads above water, and collect their first Premiership win.

League leaders Huddersfield visit Gigg Lane this Sunday and coach Tony Humphries knows his side will have to up the gears to get anything from the clash.

Said Humphreys: "They're a very big side with some excellent forwards and backs. The kicking game will be very important. That's where they are most dangerous, running the ball from deep."

For the Lions, stand-off Anthony Murray is set to return offering more attacking options. The only injury doubt is full back Adam Hughes, who sustained an ankle injury against Widnes. He faces a late fitness test but should recover enough to be named in the squad.

As reported in last week's Advertiser Sport, the Swinton Lions Supporters' Club are holding a crisis meeting at the White Lion pub, Manchester Road, Swinton tonight (Thursday) from 8pm. Tony Barrow will be among those present.
