Rhinos make it eight on the bounce

RL: North West Counties Division Six: Cadishead Rhinos 32 Farnworth A 12

THE RHINOS' magnificent form continues to go from strength to strength having now defeated first and second in the league over the last fortnight.

The results put Cadishead joint top of the table, level with local rivals Langworthy and Langworthy Reds.

Their determination showed from the kick off on Saturday, with Mark Woodfine and Paul Bradley making superb runs. The Farnworth defence held out until the 12th minute when Paul Elliott and Steve Ravenscroft combined to send Phil White over for his first try for the club. Woodfine added the conversion.

This was shortly followed by Ravenscroft's first try after great work from Gareth Bethel and Don Payne.

Despite Farnworth hitting back with two tries, the Rhinos' new-found spirit never faltered and further scores from Jason Reed and Ashley Hayes gave them a 22-12 lead at half time.

The second period was dominated by the Rhinos, with man-of-the-match Reed and Ravenscroft both bagging their second tries of the game to keep up their phenomenal individual scoring records.

It wa s real bonus for the home side to see Dave Butler back to his best after recent injury problems and a special mention must go to the Rhinos' young players, Ashley Hayes and Steve Connor, who were excellent, as were their team-mates.
