WALKDEN Thai Boxing Club ace Rebecca Edge showed plenty of girl power to win the English ISKA junior title in a thrilling top of the bill bout at the Veterans Legion in Farnworth.
The 15-year-old added the ISKA title to her north west area belt by beating Peel Thai Boxing Club’s Amy Cummings over five rounds of non-stop action.
Rebecca won via an unanimous points decision after both girls had showed plenty of grit, determination and Thai boxing proficiency.
They proved themselves to be true warriors, handing out and taking roundhouse kicks, strong punches and knees to the body and legs. And the fight was refereed by the world renowned John Blackledge.
Walkden Thai Boxing Club instructors Ronnie Thompson and Bill King said: "We and the rest of the Walkden gym are very proud of Rebecca and her achievements.
"This is Rebecca’s second well earned title belt."
Another Walkden student, Joe Madden, also fought on the show.
The 10-year-old was defeated by Joe Tomlins, who is a member of the Knuckles Thai Boxing Gym in Oldham, on points.
