SWIMMING: Salford’s James Doolan is celebrating after winning a relay gold medal and an individual silver at the European Junior Championships in Belgrade.
The 18-year-old swam the butterfly leg of the 4x100 metres medley relay as his Great Britain team broke a European record.
And he then finished second in the individual race in a new British age group time of 53.16 seconds.
Doolan’s fellow City of Salford Swimming Club member Luke Wood, aged 17, finished 13th in the 200m individual medley event at the championships.
