WORLD champion John Part produced a stunning exhibition of darts at the Irlam Steelworks Club on Tuesday night

THE world champion was the ‘Part’ at a fabulous exhibition show at the Irlam Steelworks Club on Tuesday night – and so was Roger Buckley.
Local player Roger Buckley was the only challenger to avoid defeat against Canadian world champion John Part.
He drew with the master 1-1.
But the other star name on the bill – America’s number one player Gary Mawson – won all of his matches despite playing on the smaller Manchester log-end board for the first time.
Mawson and Part both dazzled the spectators with some stunning darts.
Part cracked in a superb 11-darter and, in a thrilling climax to the night, he defeated Irlam and Cadishead champion Tom Meredith by the odd leg in three.
Part said: "This is a fantastic board and I love coming to Greater Manchester to play on it. Here’s to the next time."
