Robinson for Great Britain

26/ 4/2007

SALFORD City Reds chief Steve Simms and close season signing Luke Dorn have hailed pint-sized scrum half Luke Robinson for showing Great Britain form this term.

With Sean Long having retired from international duty, the GB scrum half role is up for grabs and Simms and Dorn believe that Robinson deserves the nod on current form.

Simms, Salford's director of football, said: "Robinson has been staking a strong claim for Great Britain in my view. We have had a disappointing season so far but he's been in terrific form."

Dorn said: "I've been fortunate enough to have seen and played with some very good scrum halfs and Luke is up there with them. He has the whole package so shy not give him a go with Great Britain?

"His all round game is exceptional and I'd also say that the best is yet to come from him because he is still learning his trade."
