Alker’s chance to Tri?

4/ 8/2005

GREAT Britain coach Brian Noble has revealed the door is still open for Salford captain Malc Alker.

Alker was hopeful of making the Lions squad for the Tri-Nations Tournament, but was omitted from Noble's 40-man squad who have been training in Bath.

However, Noble was impressed with the way Alker played against Bradford Bulls at the Willows this season and admitted the door has not been shut.

"I know how well Mal Alker has been playing and nothing is definite yet as to who will be in the final 25," revealed Noble.

Alker admits he is disappointed not to have been selected for the GB team, but stressed he will never stop striving to make the international grade.

"It is disappointing not top get picked, but the fans have been superb with me this season," said Alker. "They voiced their feelings when Brian Noble came to the Willows, so hopefully I will get a chance."
