Players return for final push

28/ 7/2005

SALFORD City Reds face the final push with only one injured player.

The Reds have had rotten luck with injuries this season and their play-off prospects are looking pretty grim.

They are six points away from the top six cut off point.

But they go into the final six games of the season with winger Tony Stewart and utility forward Andrew Brocklehurst back on board following lengthy injury lay-offs.

Stewart has recovered from a dislocated elbow and Brocklehurst is fighting fit again following a shoulder operation.

Both players are available for selection for Salford's next game at Wigan on Friday, August 5, kick-off 8pm.

Salford head coach Karl Harrison said: "We've got a fully fit squad now apart from Kevin McGuinness and there's a lot of competition for places."

Director of football Steve Simms said: "It is a good time of the season to have your players back. We have six games left and a lot of those games we can win. We can still make the play-offs."
