Talau the last signing

9/10/2008

COACH Shaun McRae insists that the signing of St Helens centre Willie Talau signals the end of Salford’s recruitment drive for next season.

The 32-year-old former New Zealand international penned a two-year contract with the Reds after playing in Saints’ Super League Grand Final defeat to Leeds on Sunday.

And McRae said: "Willie is a very experienced player at the highest level. He has tremendous attacking potency and high levels of skill in defence.

"Strengthening in the outside backs was my top priority and I am happy with my signings in that area in Willie, Mark Henry and Dean McGillivray.

"The new signings for next season are all in now and we are just trying to get Luke Adamson and Leon Walker to sign new contracts."

Young prop Luke Ambler will be leaving Salford after failing to come to a new contract agreement with the club.
