Salford want Parker

SALFORD have been given permission by Warrington Wolves to enter into transfer negotiations with England forward Rob Parker.
The 27-year-old former Bradford player looks to be surplus to requirements at the Halliwell Jones Stadium following the arrival of Gareth Carvell from Hull FC.
Wolves need to release a player or enter into a loan arrangement for salary cap reasons. And Salford would be delighted to take Parker off their hands despite already having six props signed up for next season in Ray Cashmere, Craig Stapleton, Phil Leuluai, Adam Sidlow, Lee Jewitt and Stephen Nash.
They also hope to have another prop on board in Luke Ambler but, like fellow young guns Luke Adamson and Leon Walker, he has yet to accept or turn down Salford’s new contract offer.
Renowned impact player Parker, who has another year remaining on his Wolves contract, can also play in the second row.
And Salford hope that they will soon strengthen their outside back options by signing Dean McGilvray from St Helens.
Saints have granted the Reds permission to speak with the 20-year-old winger and Salford coach Shaun McRae admits that he has held an initial meeting with the players’ representatives.
