Swain's on the way

SALFORD'S recruitment drive will continue despite the arrival of Luke Swain from Gold Coast Titans.

The 26-year-old ex-Penrith Panthers star becomes the City Reds' third signing since securing a Super League licence.

But coach Shaun McRae is expected to add further names to his squad though not St Helens legend Paul Sculthorpe.

Swain has agreed a two-year deal and follows the recent captures of North Queensland prop Ray Cashmere and South Sydney half-back Jeremy Smith.

"Luke is a quality back rower and has played in the NRL for many years," said Director of Rugby Steve Simms.

"He will be bringing plenty of experience to the team next year. There is a real buzz about the place at the moment and hopefully the fans will soon start to get excited about us going back into Super League."
