Ratchford and Sidlow sign deals

SALFORD City Reds now have 15 players signed up for next season after promising youngsters Stefan Ratchford and Adam Sidlow penned new deals.
Half back Ratchford, who came through the club’s Academy set-up, and giant prop Sidlow, who was signed from Widnes in the close season, have agreed three and two-year deals respectively.
The Reds are delighted that the 20-year-olds are staying put with director of football Steve Simms predicting bright futures for both players.
Simms said: "I believe there is lots more to come from these two promising players. They are both very good players with a lot going for them.
"Stefan has had a terrific season. He’s played some great rugby while Adam has never looked back since breaking into the first team.
"They are both a very big part of Salford’s future and we are very pleased with their progress. They’ve developed well and shown great maturity. They now want to test themselves against the best.
"Stefan is a mature footballer with a good kicking game. He is a clever player, ideal at half back and he can make things happen. His pace and awareness are good and we’ve seen what an impact he can have on games.
"We are equally pleased with Adam’s form. He worked hard for his chance and the more games he’s played the better he’s become. He’s learned a great deal alongside Craig Stapleton and Phil Leuluai. They’ve helped bring him on."
Head coach Shaun McRae said: "Both Stefan and Adam have earned the right to Super League contracts with their performances this season.
"They are now able to take the next step on the ladder and handle the week in, week out pressures that Super League provides."
The other players contracted for Salford’s 2009 Super League campaign are Ray Cashmere, Craig Stapleton, Phil Leuluai, John Wilshere, Robbie Paul, Malc Alker, Richard Myler, Karl Fitzpatrick, Lee Jewitt, Stuart Littler, Ian Sibbit, Jordan Turner and Paul White.
