Paul will return

31/ 7/2008

KIWI half back Robbie Paul will return to action for Salford’s televised top of the table clash at Halifax tonight, Thursday, July 31, kick-off 7.30pm.

Paul has recovered from the shoulder injury which ruled him out of the Reds’ 46-12 success against Leigh on Friday night and is expected to replace Stefan Ratchford in the starting line up with the youngster moving back to the bench.

Salford coach Shaun McRae said: "Now that Robbie is back we have a fully fit squad.

"We go into the Halifax game with a lot of confidence having played really well against Leigh while they come into the match on the back of a draw with Widnes and a defeat at Whitehaven.

"But Halifax proved when we played them at the end of June what a good side they are by coming back from 24-0 down to level the scores before we beat them with a late try.

"Halifax, along with Celtic, have established themselves as our main title rivals and it will be a tough game on Thursday – and a very important match for both sides."

Salford will all but secure the league leaders’ shield if they win the game as they would go at least six points clear of second-placed Halifax with just three games left to play.
