REDS coach Shaun McRae hopes to be celebrating after Tuesday’s franchise decision
Failure not an option for us

SALFORD City Reds coach Shaun McRae says the club is not even considering the possibility of failure ahead of the Super League licence decision next week.
The Reds find out if they are to gain one of the 14 franchises to play in the top division for the next three years on Tuesday morning and McRae is confident all is in place for a successful outcome.
With the 12 current Super League sides set to get the nod, pundits are tipping a three-way race for the remaining two places between Salford, Widnes and Welsh side Celtic Crusaders.
McRae said: "No one at this club has ever discussed the possibility of us not getting a licence.
"It’s just something we hope we don’t have to deal with.
"We’ve got a very positive attitude towards the whole thing and there’s good reasons for that.
"From the moment the Rugby Football League announced their decision for restructuring I was confident Salford would be a part of Super League.
"We have done all we can on and off the field to put us in the best position possible.
"The club is one of the most stable in the sport thanks to the chairman John Wilkinson and his staff, many of whom have been at The Willows for 20-odd years.
"The finances are in great shape, we’re producing youth players and this season we have done everything necessary on the field too.
"We’re top of the league and we’ve won the Northern Rail Cup already this season.
"The coaching staff and the players can do no more than that.
"Our application ticked all the right boxes and answered all the necessary questions.
"Added to that, work on the stadium has begun and I honestly think we’ve put a better case forward than a lot of Super League clubs.
"I’d be shocked if some of those clubs are in ahead of us, such is the strength of our case.
"People within the game seem to be saying there’s two places up for grabs as all the Super League clubs will get a place and most agree it’s Salford plus one more from Widnes and Celtic Crusaders and that fills us with confidence.
"However, no one really knows until it’s announced on Tuesday, because sport is full of surprises.
"Hopefully this time next week we’ll be celebrating because this is people’s lives at stake
"If we get the franchise then the relief will be huge.
"All the worry and preparation will have been worth it."
