Time to make amends
3/ 7/2008
SALFORD Reds coach Shaun McRae says that Sunday’s cup final represents an ideal opportunity for his players to start making amends for last year’s relegation from Super League.
Dropping out of the top flight on the back of a host of disappointing performances was a crushing blow to the Willows club. And McRae said: "Sunday’s Northern Rail Cup final is so important for many reasons. But, for me, the main thing is that it is a great opportunity to instil more of a feel-good factor at the club.
"Our aim this season has been to bounce back from last year’s relegation and to get the fans smiling again and Sunday’s game is massive on that score. It gives the fans a great day out in Blackpool and, hopefully, the players can cap it off by picking up some silverware.
"For some of our players, this will be the biggest game that they have ever played in.
"And some of our more experienced players know just how good it feels to win a trophy. There will be no one lacking in motivation on Sunday."
