Licence joy for Salford

Dave Lawrenson
22/ 7/2008

SALFORD City Reds fans are celebrating after their club were granted one of the 14 Super League licences up for grabs for the 2009, 2010 and 2011 seasons.

The groundbreaking new system, which will see National League One leaders Salford and Welsh club Celtic Crusaders join the 12 current Super League clubs in the top flight, signals the end of promotion and relegation in the European game.

The Rugby Football League announced the new make-up of an expanded Super League at 10am on Tuesday morning.

Congratulations Reds! Fantastic and well done!

Harry, Salford's future should not just be restricted to the City of Salford boundaries, but to the wider Manchester public of over 2.5 million!
