'Ball' ache

SALFORD will have to make do without Andy Ballard for the next four weeks after their leading points scorer underwent a hernia operation yesterday, Wednesday, May 7.

With Salford short of options on the wing this season, coach Shaun McRae admits that it is a blow to lose Ballard’s services, especially with the 21-year-old being the best goal kicker at the club.

   The reds will now find out just how resiient they are.The injuries were bound to come, and it is incumbent upon the club to mhave adequate replacements waiting in the wings.Other clubs have injuries too , it's all a matter of weathering the inevitable storm. Jim Shelton
